Artificial stone one step closer to a ban in California!

After a petition from the Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association (WOEMA) and testimony from multiple UCSF and COEH physicians and scientists and from affected workers and families, California regulators advanced a proposal to ban artificial stone countertops linked to silicosis, beginning rulemaking to prohibit engineered stone with more than 1% crystalline silica tied to hundreds of California cases.
