UC Occupational, Environment, and Climate Medicine Links

• The Center for Occupational and Environmental Health
  The Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) and its sister centers at Los Angeles and Irvine serve government, industry, schools, health professionals, and the general public through programs and partnerships designed to deepen understanding of occupational and environmental hazards and to prevent disease, fatalities, and injuries.
• UCSF Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic
  The Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic provides consultation for patients and their families with injuries, illnesses, exposures or health concerns related to their workplace, community or home. Our doctors provide diagnosis and treatment of work-related injury and illness under workers' compensation, and can perform in-depth expert consultation for disability and return-to-work. We are familiar with the latest studies on chemical exposure and health effects, and can arrange for workplace visits and testing to make recommendations about reducing or eliminating hazards.
• OECM Tutorials
  A series of interactive case studies based upon the clinical experiences of faculty and trainees at the Division of OECM at UCSF. Partially supported by an instructional media grant from the UCSF Library.
• Ergonomics Program
  The Ergonomics Program is affiliated with the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, a University of California umbrella organization that links faculty and research programs with research interest in occupational health from the Berkeley, Davis and San Francisco campuses. The Program's laboratory is located at U.C. Berkeley's Richmond Field Station, a research station administered by the College of Engineering.

• California Poison Control (CPCS)
  The California Poison Control provides immediate, free and expert treatment advice and referral over the telephone in case of exposure to poisonous or toxic substances.
• Center to Protect Workers' Rights (CPWR)
  The Center to Protect Workers' Rights is affiliated with the Building and Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO. It focuses on construction and ergonomics issues. Site includes hazard alerts in English and Spanish, press releases, an ergonomics checklist, publication information, research papers, and more. • CPWR—Electronic Library of Construction Safety and Health (eLCOSH)
  The Center to Protect Workers’ Rights has gathered this extensive library of material on construction safety and health. Workers, contractors, researchers, and others can download information from many sources in English, Spanish, and other languages. Funding for eLCOSH is provided by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Materials include pocket cards, brochures, manuals, newsletters, research reports, directories, training curricula, data sets, bibliographies, and regulations. • Western Occupational & Environmental Medical Association (WOEMA)
  WOEMA is a regional component of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), and is dedicated to high quality medical care and ethical principles governing the practice of occupational medicine.
• Occupational Health Branch (OHB)
  The Occupational Health Branch is a program in the California Department of Public Health devoted to improving worker health and safety through prevention activities. OHB works to prevent injury and illness on the job before they happen.
• American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM)
  The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) represents more than 4,500 physicians and other health care professionals specializing in the field of occupational, environmental, and climate medicine (OECM).
• Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC)
  Established in 1987 the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics, a non-profit organization, is committed to improving the practice of occupational and environmental health through information sharing and collaborative research.
• California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR)
  The Department of Industrial Relations was established to improve working conditions for California's wage earners, and to advance opportunities for profitable employment in California.
