CHS Action Panel
CHS Action Panel
Dr. Vibhu Krishna was selected to participate in the CalHeatScore Action Panel, which was a gathering that took place in Sacramento in late May. It included researchers, local health officers, academic professionals, and physicians focused on heat- and climate-related illness in several domain areas and across multiple vulnerable populations. Her area of expertise is in mass gatherings and heat illness planning and preparation, which was salient given the World Cup and upcoming LA Olympics.
The workshop was for the state to build priorities for refining their current iteration of the CalHeatScore (a zip-code level heat health risk tool being developed by OEHHA / CDPH) for the next year and a half. Vibhu also completed a rotation with OEHHA and the CalHeatScore team in July, offering further guidance on mass participation events and score utilization in school-based athletics and healthcare settings.
