New OECM Division Manager: Serena Lee
New OECM Division Manager: Serena Lee
I am happy to welcome Serena Lee as the new Division Manager starting on January 8, 2024!
Serena was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with a B.S. in Business Administration. She received her Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from California State University, East Bay. Serena’s first full-time job after graduating from college was with the Division of General Internal Medicine at ZSFG so she is excited to be back at the General once again. After working for several years at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, she found her way back to UCSF where she served as a Research Financial Analyst for the Division of Infectious Diseases for over five years. Her most recent roles were in the Division of General Internal Medicine as Assistant Division Manager and Program Manager. Serena looks forward to continue working in the Department of Medicine and getting to know all of you!
Serena currently lives in Daly City with her family and two cats. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and hiking.
To ensure a smooth transition, Maxine has generously agreed to continue working with us and to mentor Serena as she learns her new role. I'd like to thank Laurae Pearson from ZSFG DOM for leading the search, and Rahmat Balogun, Bob Harrison, Stephanie Holm and James McNicholas for interviewing candidates. We are all excited about Serena joining the Division, although we are also sorry to lose Maxine. Please wish Serena a warm welcome to her new role!
