Staff cuts at NIOSH Jeopardize Occupational Health
The vast majority (92%) of the NIOSH workforce was fired on April 1st, ending 50 years of programs that protected workers and helped reduce workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths. NIOSH, originally created in 1970 by Congress to reduce the high fatality, injury, and illness rates of American Workers, was gutted ending all but two programs. Read more here:
